8-day tour incorporating the exciting Circuit des Remparts races in Angoulême with 4 days in the Dordogne visiting beautiful villages. Our tour starts with an overnight ferry from Portsmouth to St.Malo and then on scenic back roads takes us to the Dordogne with an overnight stop at a sumptuouse 4-star chateau in the Loire Valley. Our base for the next 5 nights is just outside Brantome, one of France's most beautful towns. Over the weekend we visit Angoulême to watch the exciting classic car races and then we visit more of France's prettiest villages including Aubeterre, Beynac and Sarlat, Europe's best preserved medieval town.Our return trip takes us back through the Vienne Valley to the Loire Valley, our final overnight stop, and then up to Normandy and Caen where we catch the afternoon ferry.
